The secret is in the shoelaces
Welcome to GO FOR A RUN, the newsletter that’ll help you untangle all the knots:
Slowing down my running helped me build a consistent running habit and I was able to run for longer and longer. I started being able to run for more than an hour at a time.
But there was a problem.
My toes felt like they were on fire!
Seriously. After 60 minutes of running, I thought my toenails would rip off. I’d have to stop and take my shoes off for a minute, but it would happen again after 10-15 minutes.
Now you might think:
Oh, well your shoes don’t fit dummy!
And you could be right. I DID move up a half size, which helped a bit. But there was something else going on – and it’s probably happening to you right now too:
You’re not tying your laces properly.
I know, I know – hear me out.
If you’re using a normal knot, your feet could slide around slightly. You might not notice it at first but when you add some long distance in, you certainly will.
Instead, what you need is the runner’s knot.
Never heard of it?
No problem.
I’ve made a video walking you through (it’s hard to describe how to make a knot with just words!)
Hope it helps.
